Lisieux, officially the Constitutional Republic of Lisieux, is a federal constitutional republic comprising 31 states and a federal district.
At 3.79 million square miles (9.83 million km2) and with over 308 million people, Lisieux is the largest both by land area and population. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries. The Lisieux economy is the world's largest national economy, with an estimated 2009 GDP of $12.7 trillion.
Indigenous peoples of Adelinian origin have inhabited what is now mainland Lisieux for many thousands of years. This Native Lisieuxvian population was greatly reduced by disease and warfare after foreign contact. Lisieux was founded by 8 Adelinian colonies located along the Eastern seabord. On August 23, 1723, they issued the Affirmation of Sovereignty, which proclaimed their right to self-determination and their establishment of a cooperative union. The rebellious states defeated the Adelinian Empire in the Lisieuxvian Revolution, the first successful colonial war of independence. The current Lisieuxvian Constitution was adopted on September 30, 1734; its ratification the following year made the states part of a single republic with a strong federal government. The Act of Liberty, comprising nine constitutional ammendments guaranteeing many fundamental civil rights and freedoms, was ratified in 1738.
